Dr. James Bartalotta
Dr. James B. is a distinguished aesthetic dentist who embarked on his journey in dentistry at La Trobe University in Bendigo, Australia, where he completed a Bachelor of Health Science (Dentistry) followed by a Master of Dentistry. His passion for enhancing not just smiles but overall facial aesthetics has driven him to dento-facial aesthetics, taking a holistic approach to patient care that considers both dental health and facial harmony.
Education and Continuous Learning: Dr. James B.’s commitment to excellence is demonstrated through his continuous pursuit of education. Beyond his foundational degrees, he has completed a post-graduate diploma in orthodontics and clear aligners, as well as a post-graduate diploma in Aesthetic and Restorative Dentistry with the prestigious ACDP. His dedication to staying at the forefront of dental techniques and technologies is evident in his regular participation in webinars, CPD lectures, and his role as a Key Opinion Leader for KavoKerr and SDI, where he shares his expertise on composite bonding and veneers.

Dr Stephanie McManus
Dr Stephanie McManus is a passionate dentist and enjoys all aspects of dentistry. She enjoys providing treatment in a stress free environment and is happy to educate patients and answer all the questions they have.
Dr McManus graduated from Melbourne University completing her Bachelor of Biomedicine before earning ger Doctorate of Dentistry.

Dr. Julian Messina
Dr. Julian is a dedicated and compassionate dentist with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. Raised in the northern suburbs of Melbourne, Dr Julian has long been inspired by the positive impact that meaningful patient-doctor relationships can have on people’s lives.
Dr. Julian completed a Bachelor of Science (Honours), followed by a Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University of Melbourne. Over the past three years, Dr. Julian has gained valuable experience working across a variety of dental clinics throughout metropolitan Melbourne, the outer suburbs, and rural and regional Victoria. This has allowed him to build strong connections with a wonderfully diverse range of patients from all walks of life.
Passionate about all aspects of dentistry, Dr. Julian takes pride in delivering comprehensive treatment that empowers patients to feel confident and take control of their oral health. He finds genuine joy in helping patients achieve healthy, happy smiles. He is particularly skilled at creating a relaxed, welcoming environment for those who may feel anxious about visiting the dentist.
A naturally friendly and social person, Dr. Julian loves getting to know his patients beyond the dental chair. He believes that great smiles start with great conversations.
Outside of work, Dr. Julian enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, playing tennis, snowboarding, and following the AFL.
Dr Tom Brookes
Dr Tom Brookes graduated in 2018 after completing his dentistry studies at La Trobe University in Bendigo. He enjoys all areas of dentistry, with a particular interest in restorative, orthodontic, and cosmetic care.
Dr Tom is well known for his calm, gentle approach and takes pride in helping anxious patients feel relaxed and confident throughout their treatment.
When he’s not in the clinic, Tom enjoys working on cars, staying active, spending time outdoors, and discovering Melbourne’s vibrant food and coffee scene
Chrissy
Chrissy is our Dental Assistant and Receptionist with Dr Zukerman. She assists with all your dental needs. She’ll guide you through your visit, from coordinating your appointment, assisting with accounts, as well as being the personal chair side assistant to Dr Zukerman. Only at Smile Designs do you receive such personalised attention.
Chrissy’s commitment and desire for continuing education will further elevate the expertise at Smile Designs.

Laboratory Team
Our highly skilled laboratory team pride themselves with attention to detail and are proud of their high quality ceramic work. Our ceramists are local operators and use world-class materials. For patients requiring any prosthetic work (dentures) again, we use a local prosthetist with whom the patient can deal directly.
Our masterful technicians must live up to Dr Zukerman’s high expectations. The lab team comprises of experts in acrylic appliances and state of the art porcelain.
